Job Description

The IPS Project Managers orchestrate the delivery of Partner and Large Customer projects, acting as an advocate internally whilst representing Elavon externally.


You should demonstrate some of the following:

  • Assists in driving the team, encouraging high performance and helping meet objectives.

  • Keeps pace with Project Management best practice and keeps the team informed, reviewing and updating where appropriate. 

  • Consistently delivers projects on time, to scope and with excellent outcomes and feedback, known as a safe pair of hands. 

  • Is always looking to reduce the time to revenue and helps drive implementation improvements. 

  • Acts as a Partner / Customer advocate and is passionate about delivering to their expectations. 

  • Is comfortable managing many projects in parallel whilst also mentoring less experienced team members. 

  • Ensures adherence to the Elavon project best practices and assists the Head of the team in audit preparation and completion. 

  • Has or is working towards Six Sigma or Prince2 or PMP qualifications. 

  • Forms strong and long lasting relationships with internal and external partners and customers. 

  • Knowledge of payment systems and acquiring would be an advantage.

  • Oral communication skills (understands the value of listening, qualifying, replaying).

  • Written communication skills (documents concisely with clarity).

  • Interpersonal skills (able to influence and negotiate).

  • Facilitation skills (make sense of broad requirements and narrow to a focused ask).

  • Being detailoriented (capable of delivering a high level of accuracy).

  • Organisational skills (including documentation and process mapping).

  • Stakeholder analysis (able to effectively manage upwards).

  • Collaboration (develops a one team mentality).

  • Negotiation (ensures correct level of focus and consensus).

  • Prioritisation (validating the importance of one feature over another).

  • Defining Success Criteria (what good looks like, what defines done).

  • Appreciation for Agile (minimum viable product, sprint planning).


Delivery in this role includes being responsible or accountable for:

  • Prioritising requirements from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Document and agree scope.

  • Agree timelines and plan resources to ensure successful delivery.

  • Manage change control and scope creep.

  • Stand up and manage virtual teams.

  • Deliver multiple projects in parallel, managing competing priorities and demands.

  • Ensure clean project closure and handover to Business As Usual.

  • Support the team audit process.

  • Complete RFI responses.
