Position Overview
As a Lead Learning Consultant at U.S. Bank, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the learning strategy for three key business lines: Consumer & Business Banking (CBB), Payments, and Wealth, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking (WCIB). In this strategic consulting capacity, you will partner closely with learning directors, talent consultants, learning consulting teams, and senior leadership to develop, implement, and measure learning solutions that support the evolving capabilities, and talent needs of these divisions. This role will collaborate with Learning Partner’s across revenue generating business lines to develop common strategies to address business needs.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of talent development and business strategy, ensuring that U.S. Bank’s learning programs not only align with but also accelerate the achievement of business goals. The Lead Learning Consultant will bring an innovative, data-driven approach to learning while providing leadership and guidance to ensure learning initiatives are scalable, impactful, and responsive to the rapidly changing financial services landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Learning Leadership: Work directly with senior leadership in CBB, Payments, and Wealth, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking to develop comprehensive learning strategies that align with both current and future business needs. Ensure learning initiatives are positioned as a key lever in achieving strategic business objectives and identifying interconnected opportunities to drive growth for the organization.
Consultative Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to business and HR leaders, providing insights and strategic recommendations on learning solutions that foster talent development, improve performance, and support business transformation. Influence key stakeholders on the vision, goals, and direction for learning across multiple business lines.
Learning Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with learning teams to design, implement, and continuously refine training programs that address critical skills gaps and enhance organizational capabilities. Focus on building scalable, high-impact programs that drive measurable results.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize both qualitative and quantitative data to assess the effectiveness of learning initiatives, identify trends, and adjust strategies accordingly. Share insights with business leaders to inform ongoing program improvements and ensure alignment with business goals.
Thought Leadership and Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices in learning and development, particularly in areas such as digital learning, leadership development, and talent management. Introduce innovative solutions that position U.S. Bank’s learning function as a leader in the financial services industry.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with learning directors, Talent Consultants, and HR business partners across the organization to create a cohesive, integrated learning strategy. Help foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth throughout the bank.
Risk and Change Management: Assess and manage risks associated with learning solutions and ensure that learning programs are adaptable to support business change, growth, and evolving needs in a competitive financial services environment.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of experience in learning and development, HR, business, or management roles, with a demonstrated track record of leading large-scale learning initiatives across multiple business lines or divisions
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, or related field
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning technologies, with expertise in evaluating learning impact and effectiveness
Proven ability to partner with senior leaders to drive strategic talent initiatives and foster a high-performance learning culture
Expertise in using data and analytics to measure and enhance the impact of learning programs
Experience in the financial services industry, particularly within CBB, Payments, and Wealth/Commercial Banking, is a plus
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies (e.g., Cornerstone, Workday, etc.)
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse teams and leadership levels
Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and work independently to drive results

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $129,455.00 - $152,300.00 - $167,530.00
