Job DescriptionThe Director of Global Operations (ERP Systems), is a key executive role within the Bank's office of the CFO. It falls within the Controller's group. It is responsible for leading and supporting strategic project initiatives that impact U.S. Bank's core financials (General Ledger and sub-ledgers), operational accounting process and automation of manual processes within the Banks controls framework. This role is responsible to the Controller, SVP of Financial Operations and SVP/Assistant Controller for designing and managing overall operational functionality for the Bank's core financial systems globally currently and as the Bank seeks to modernize its core financials in the coming 3-5 years. This role achieves results through direct and indirect staff and internal business partners to ensure the proper configuration, testing, controls design, implementation and maintenance of assigned systems. It is directly responsible for the build out and ongoing operation of the Banks core Finance ERP(s) globally. This role manages and maintains responsibility throughout the project life cycle and during ongoing sustainment periods for financial and accounting-related activity. including monthly and quarterly close activities for Corporate Finance as it relates to the owned systems and their accuracy. The Senior Manager is responsible for timely written and verbal communication and leads change management efforts for all assigned work efforts. This role ensures on-time and on-schedule delivery of tasks and deliverables and frequently partners with Enterprise Technology and other business teams to accomplish improvements in our systems with a focus on evidenced operational controls, automation of accounting controls and reporting. The Senior Manager leads, mentors, and develops direct reports to support assigned operational work efforts and project implementation The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with system implementations and client support at a Corporate or Segment level, preferably working for a top 10 Bank. The candidate should have proven experience in the design, launch, configuration and management of cloud based financial system packages such as (Oracle, Workday, Infor, SAP). They also should be familiar with current business analytics tools, process improvement and project management methodologies, and technology infrastructure best practices.
Project/Product Ownership / Management Liaises with Enterprise Technology, Management/Regulatory Reporting, Corporate Accounting, Business Line Reporting and Finance Risk Management in the ideation, planning, design, testing and launch/maintain ace to drive system enhancements, upgrades and modifications across multiple process areas and regions of the Bank's footprint. It ensures system design supports business requirements, accuracy and detail of accounting entries and associated reporting and acceptable risk management documentation and testing standards (SOX/RCSA/Data Governance).
Directly manages third party relationships with current and future financial system providers and has experience doing so, ideally with providers of core financial systems for Bank's in the cloud.
Monitors project results against objectives, milestones and scope. Is the product owner for the Bank's core global financials. It defines and drives long term strategy for financial systems and related processes within their areas while supporting and driving the Implementation of strategic efforts across the Bank associated with the products under ownership.
Leverages synergy opportunities across functions and businesses.
Makes sound business decisions that balance competing priorities.
Serves as a strategic business planning partner working with business units (within each Segment and across the Enterprise) and Enterprise Technology to formulate enhancement options to address specific functional issues / requirements.
Develops Strategy for obtaining/analyzing metrics to identify trends, process/system opportunities and recommends corrective action. Recommends and implements process improvement/reengineering initiatives.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of business specific objectives.
Leadership Manages a team of 12+ Financial System and Business Operations Analyst as well as System Security specialists for supported systems

Basic Qualifications Minimum ten years of business experience managing financial and accounting systems, preferably in a large Bank using am ERP in the cloud for its core financials.
Experience in a big 5 accounting firm working with large Banks or direct experience working in a large bank (as a vendor provider of ERP tools or as an employee within its finance organization supporting accounting systems and operational accounting activities.
Minimum of 5 years leading automation or technology-enabled process improvement efforts at the Enterprise, Segment or Business Unit levels of the organization
Minimum 5 years work experience managing teams
Experience working within a matrix organization for a large company
Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical subjects/audiences
Strong ability to interact effectively and influence at all levels of the organization, including at the C-suite level.
Previous experience managing organizations with both direct and indirect reporting employees through large scale change management (systems, process, staff) preferably with some team members in a remote location
Strong relationship building and consensus building skills, with a highly professional “client service orientation”
Charismatic, dynamic leader and effective manager, who leads by example and will mentor a team to meet high profile objectives.
Proven ability to partner with multiple project/specialty teams, including Enterprise Technology, Legal, vendors and key functional/business teams.

Demonstrated strong analytical skills, experience implementing complex financial processes and systems with an ability to discriminate between symptoms and root causes.
Ability to focus on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
Experienced in using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
Ability to occasionally travel for business, domestically and internationally (10% of time or less).
Preferred Qualifications Expertise and certification in cloud based financial applications such as (Infor, Oracle, SAP or Workday).
Experience supporting a global operations environment in a large Bank
Experience in using Business Objects, Tableau and/or Cognos reporting tools
Demonstrated experience managing process efficiency projects
Experience leading and championing change for projects
Experience working on business intelligence/data warehousing and reporting systems projects (e.g. Business Objects, Cognos, BW, Crystal Reports, MS SQL Report Builder or similar)
Project management experience using the Agile delivery methodology
PMP® or other professional project management certification
