Job Description
The Wealth Management Consultant is responsible for developing new business for U.S. Bank Wealth Management (Wealth) and identifying prospective new client opportunities for U.S. Bank Corporate and Commercial Bank (CCB). This position will not have ongoing client management responsibilities. Identifies, cultivates and develops trusting relationships with CCB relationship managers and leaders that can serve as referral sources in the client acquisition process. Serves as primary point of contact for Wealth with a selected group of CCB relationship managers, providing sales and marketing strategies and support, coaching towards introductions. Pre-qualifies prospective clients in order to identify most appropriate Wealth segment and client team to most successfully acquire client and meet their needs and expectations. Works closely with Wealth client service team to provide an expeditious and efficient transition of prospective clients introduced by CCB, as well as continuing to follow through with new client until close. Maintains an active prospect database, along with marketing and introductory strategies for every contact and owner of CCB clients, documented in Wealth CRM system. Proactively identifies Wealth clients and contacts who serve as influencers or owners of businesses that would be prospective clients of CCB, and, working with the Wealth client service team, facilitates the introductions with the most appropriate CCB relationship manager. Markets externally to centers of influence with CCB relationship managers to help build awareness and generate new leads and introductions of prospective clients. Attends and participates in CCB sales meetings, events, and other activities that promote business development. Acts as a mentor and consultant for teammates on business development, team optimization and market strategy within U.S. Bank Wealth Management.
This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record, may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically 10 or more years of banking/wealth management/relationship management experience
Typically three or more years of demonstrated experience in coaching partners for referrals, introductions and business development
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience working with High Net Worth individuals and families doing holistic planning
Well-developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills
Knowledges of unit and relation to industry
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to frequently travel to neighboring markets to meet with CCB relationship managers and leaders, and prospective clients
Graduate degree and/or professional designation such as CFP, CFA, CPA, CTFA, or JD preferred

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $160,480.00 - $188,800.00 - $207,680.00
