U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives in our digital transformation journey. 

The Software Engineer 2 - Responsive Web (React) will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development life-cycle and DevOps principles.

Essential Responsibilities:   

  • Responsible for designing,developing,testing, operating and maintaining productsusing React.js and Angular.

  • Takesfull stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code.

  • Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs. 

  • Makessound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront. 

  • Takesfeedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards.Conductscodereviews toprovide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.

  • Accountable for ensuring all aspectsof productdevelopmentfollow compliance and security best practices.

  • Exhibitsrelentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.

  • Embracesemerging technology opportunities and contributesto the best practices in support ofthebank’s technology transformation. 

  • Contributes toa culture of innovation, collaborationand continuous improvement

  • Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized forincremental delivery. Anticipates and communicates blockersanddelays before they require escalation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Three to five plus years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Strongproficiencyin JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model

  • Extensivehands onexperience in ReactJS,EcmaScript6 and above

  • Extensive experience on creating Microfront endapplications.

  • Modern JS (browser + Node.js),CSS,SCSSand HTML5

  • Good Experience in Next JS / otherJavascript 

  • Front end state management Redux,ContextAPIand Hooks

  • Client APIGrapQL,Axiosand Fetchwrapper

  • Reusable react JS components creation.

  • Extensive experience on Responsive design system

  • Webpack with the entire ecosystem

  • Understanding the architecture of web applications,what'sgoing on under the hood

  • Knowledge of OOP and patterns

  • Basic understanding of web application performance

  • Redux

  • GraphQL

  • Context API

  • SCSS / CSS 3 and above

  • HTML 5

  • Webpack 4 and above

  • Responsive Design

  • Jenkin

  • GitLab

  • Artifactory system

  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token

  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools

  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.

  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements

  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization

  • Familiarity with code versioning tools (GIT,TFS)

  • Thorough understanding of a feature, the usersimpacted, the flowsimpactedand feature's purpose.

  • Technical designs are clear, well thought out, and considers dependencies, failure states, maintainability,testabilityand ease of support.

  • Considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs.

  • Understands the team's domain, how work in this domain relates to the team'sobjectivesand deliverables and how it contributes to overall business strategy and how technical strategy maps to this.

  • Thoroughly understands the business model in relation to their current product focus area.

  • Ability to analyze the bigger picture,identifyingand prioritizing with the aim to consider more than one domain within an analysis.

  • Looks for opportunities to simplify product & technical design.

  • Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

  • Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
