U.S. Bank Senior Quantitative Model Validation Analyst - Capital Markets - Chicago or Remote in Salt Lake City, Utah

Validates and oversees development, implementation and usage of complex pricing and risk models in the Capital and Mortgage Markets area. These models cover a variety of products or services and are used for financial decision making and risk management. The role focuses on reviewing the model logic, documentation, testing and monitoring, and communicating review outcomes to the stakeholders within the Bank. Deliverables include the creation of model validation reports/presentations, participation in model development lifecycle, model performance monitoring and ensuring adherence with relevant policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, and eight or more years of relevant experience
- MA/MS in a quantitative field, and five or more years of related experience
- PhD in a quantitative field, and four or more years of related experience
Familiarity with modeling techniques, financial markets, risk management, data science and AI. 3 to 5-year experience preferred. Candidates with less experience may be considered at lower grade.
Relevant work experience such as in model development, validation, governance, pricing, risk management, data analysis. Familiarity with at least some of the capital market areas such as interest rate and mortgage models, fixed income and derivatives products, pricing and market risk management, income and capital forecasting, stress testing, VAR, counterparty risk, credit loss models, third party models and tools (such as Yield book, Bloomberg, QRM, Polypaths, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of regression techniques, parametric and non-parametric algorithms, times series techniques, and other statistical models, familiarity with statistical software (such as SAS/R/Matlab)
Strong computer skills. Experience with programming languages, databases/SQL and data science related software preferred.
Advanced understanding of applicable regulatory rules, guidance, or supervisory letters
Ability to manage multiple tasks across various timelines
Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and project management skills
Demonstrated independence, teamwork and leadership skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $117,215.00 - $137,900.00 - $151,690.00
