Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst will support one or more portfolios in U.S. Bank’s credit and debit card business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Month-end close, forecast, portfolio analytics, program and product support, and financial reporting.

  • Building and managing complex financial models

  • Performing value added analytics which are core competencies that are an integral part of managing the profitability of the portfolio

  • Building and maintaining a working partnership with the Product, Risk, and Finance professionals across the organization.

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Three or more years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Three to five years work experience in a financial role, preferably FP&A

  • Working knowledge of financial analysis techniques and general accounting procedures

  • Experience or knowledge of a lending-based product and knowledge of the P&L

  • Well-developed mathematical and analytical skills

  • Thorough knowledge in financial analysis, forecasting, and planning

  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data

  • Proven ability in financial modeling, analytics and application of financial decisioning tools (NPV, DCF, IRR, RAM, ROE, NIACC)

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, ability to create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and extract data from a variety of databases and other sources

  • Ability to manage a number of concurrent projects

  • Good prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Strong technical skills related to data mining and visualization tools

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Experience or knowledge of a lending-based product and knowledge of the P&L
