Job DescriptionThe Control Analyst - Mortgage role is part of the Control Management team within the Quality Management organization. This role serves as primary contact and point of entry for all internal and external control related inquiries, including additions, revisions and removal of risks and controls for assigned RAU’s.
This individual works collaboratively with process/control owners to respond to inquiries and ensure self-assessments are performed timely, with Risk Owners to identify and update risk likelihood and control effectiveness criteria, and BLCAs to ensure changes to the control inventory are timely.
To ensure risk and control considerations are incorporated in business change initiatives, the individual will work collaboratively with business unit leaders and project managers/project owners to stay informed of business changes that impact risk and controls. This includes identifying impact of change to the risk and control environment and enhance or create controls as needed to mitigate new risks.
This position will participate in the Regulatory Change and Enterprise Policy change processes facilitated by CBB Risk by completing gap analyses and evaluating impacts to the control environment. Following implementation, ensure changes to controls are captured in the control inventory.
This position will participate in Audit/Exam kick-offs to gain understanding of scope and extent of control assessment, review/validate risk and control matrices prepared by audit/testing teams, participate in control walkthroughs to ensure control environment is accurately represented and participate in discussions around potential gaps and exceptions in controls. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Seven to ten years of applicable experience Preferred Skills/Experience - Expert understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls - Expert understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business - Basic knowledge of Business Risk competencies - Strong process facilitation and project management skills - Strong presentation, relationship building and negotiation skills - Well-developed analytical skills - Effective oral and written communication skills - Possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs - Proficient computer navigation skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentations
