Job Description
Retail Payment Solutions division of U.S. Bank is seeking a Bankruptcy Manager to lead a Bankruptcy Servicing team who may be responsible for inbound calls, coding of new bankruptcy notifications, statusing, updating, filing proof of claims, conducting plan reviews, and researching legal matters, as well as any additional activities that may occur through the lifecycle of a bankruptcy. Incumbent leads the day-to-day Bankruptcy Operations and ensures subordinate leader(s) facilitate processes, reporting, etc., to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of Collections & Recovery, and/or Bankruptcy Operations. Additionally, this person will have proven leadership skills in coaching, developing, and holding leaders and associates accountable to performance standards. They will ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and federal bankruptcy law.
Assist Corporate Counsel in negotiations with attorneys and/or trustees on settlement demands.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations and policies and internal operating policies, procedures, and audit/examining standards. Responds to audit/examining exceptions.
Implements and monitors tracking and performance.
Provides required reporting to keep executive management apprised of activities; makes presentations as needed.
Communicates with leaders and staff to produce effective procedures and workflow and to ensure quality service levels are maintained. Follows up with resolution of problems to ensure timely response and customer satisfaction.
Recommends hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and reviews. May approve employee daily time records, work assignments, vacations, sick pay, etc. Executes employee relations, training and affirmative action policies as needed.
Creates and develops ongoing performance reviews and administers performance improvement plans if needed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
Considerable knowledge of operation functions, systems, policies and procedures for the assigned area
In-depth understanding and practical application of applicable laws and regulations
Strong organizational, managerial and project management skills
Well-developed customer relations skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
Thorough knowledge of banking operations and human resources
Location:
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $108,375.00 - $127,500.00 - $140,250.00
