U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives in our digital transformation journey.

The Software Engineer Manager will be responsible for leading the team to deliver best in class software experiences for the Payment Domain Responsive Web application. They will be responsible for engineering the right solution for our Online Banking platform and delivery it for payment partners along with leading a team of architects, engineers and automation engineers. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience.

Essential Responsibilities: Proven Engineering Leader with an optimal mix of technical and Business acumen

Responsible for collaborating and come up with architecture, integration solutions, designing and leading development teams

Be able to lead technical discussion with development leads and guide them on the right approach

Partner with Business line in market research on how other Financial Institutes are making strides in personalization experiences

Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices

Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards

Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation

Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

Strategize technical solution to enhance the Online Banking experience and deliver it for Partner customer goals experience and create customer stickiness

Acts as agile/product champion by enabling product teams and partnering with other leaders to drive empowerment, autonomy, Engineering momentum, and Business value

Fosters a culture of empowerment, Engineering excellence, and growth within the team

Will ensure product stability, scalability and resiliency for Insights product

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

Six to eight years of relevant technical experience

Five or more years of leading a software engineering team

Preferred Skills/Experience 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering with knowledge on design patterns, integration, architecture

Experience leading a team

Experience in code governance and quality metrics

Strong able to partner in architecture solutions and lead design discussions

Excellent programming experience in any language like Java, Front End Technology, Mobile Skills

Strong object-oriented programming and design skills

Considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs

Understands the team's domain, how work in this domain relates to the team's objectives and deliverables and how it contributes to overall business strategy and how technical strategy maps to this

Thoroughly understands the business model in relation to their current product focus area

Ability to analyze the bigger picture, identifying and prioritizing with the aim to consider more than one domain within an analysis

Looks for opportunities to simplify product & technical design

Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles

Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
