USBCDC is currently seeking a candidate to join our growing team of environmental finance professionals as a Project Manager (PM). The PM’s responsibilities include underwriting, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex renewable energy loans and investments (predominantly for solar and wind projects) utilizing Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC). The PM will prepare underwriting packages for proposed transactions, obtain credit approval, and close loans and investments.
Participate in the early‐stage review of potential loans, investments, complex deal structures, programs, and partners.
Engage and manage third party professionals including attorneys, accountants, consultants, and engineers.
Review complex legal documents pertaining to structured credit arrangements and investments; works with counsel and business partners to negotiate and mitigate risks on behalf of USBCDC.
Review and analyze financial models and be able to identify and address underwriting cash flow, accounting, and tax risks.
Review and analyze all necessary third-party reports to support financing or investment requests. Primarily responsible and accountable to review reports, address issues and challenge findings with vendors when appropriate, encourage third parties to deliver on time.
Coordinate with internal and external USBCDC departments to facilitate underwriting and closing of loans and investments.
Close transactions in accordance with bank policies while managing customer expectations and timelines.
Participate in special projects, including the development and revision of internal policies and procedures.
Actively ensure compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti‐Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and information security policies and procedures. Follow account opening procedures and internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes.
- Bachelor's degree and six or more years of related experienceORMBA/JD with three or more years of directly related experience
Advanced knowledge of financial modeling techniques and analysis of proforma financial statements.
Ability to lead projects, mentor junior employees.
Advanced credit underwriting and financial analysis skills, including strong cash flow analysis skills with complex, structured transactions, due diligence proficiency and detail orientation
Comprehension of complex project finance transactions, loan documentation, and deal structure mechanics
Knowledge of critical aspects of renewable energy project underwriting, including equipment and performance review as well as a baseline understanding of U.S. energy markets including regulatory structures, physical and synthetic forms of power agreements and derivative instruments.
Advanced ability to review and synthesize a large quantity of deal related documentation and materials, including third party reports, loan/investment documents, and other legal documents. Able to identify key issues and concerns, manage review timelines, and problem solve using creativity and innovation.
Familiarity with standard banking processes and procedures, including managing to credit policies and procedures and navigating credit approval processes.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively manage client timelines and needs. Ability to identify obstacles and manage expectations, both internally and externally.
Effective listener and advanced communication skills, both oral and written.
Highly motivated self-starter who has a good attention to detail, growth mindset, and ability to be comfortable in periods of unpredictability.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated interest in promoting diversity in the workplace and a commitment to maximizing equitable access to the benefits of renewable energy.

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $125,715.00 - $147,900.00 - $162,690.00
