Job DescriptionThe Chief Engineer - Infrastructure SRE exhibits a mix of technical acumen, strategy and vision, along with the ability to cultivate and grow technical talent. Responsible for developing and implementing SRE principles to improve the reliability of U.S. Banks most critical applications and systems. This position is an advanced technologist enabling solid design decisions and sound operational decisions. Builds meaningful relationships with relevant stakeholders and effectively partners to remove organizational obstacles and guide cross-team strategic efforts. Acts as agile/product champion by enabling product teams and partnering with other leaders to drive empowerment, autonomy, momentum, and business value. Fosters a culture of empowerment, excellence, and growth.

As a Manager of Infrastructure SREs, you will: • Lead your team in daily agile practices • Optimize the quality and velocity of both development and operations • Mentor SREs to improve their skills • Identify and measure team health indicators • Implement structured engineering and operations processes • Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables • Work to meet SLAs and SLOs with customer deployments around the globe • Represent the SRE team to stakeholders, customers, and internal teams

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

Eight or more years of relevant work experience in business and risk analysis, IT Service Management, production support, product/project management, or application development

Preferred Skills/Experience Thorough knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools

Strong engineering and technology background with the ability to drive product solutions

Strong understanding of design principles, patterns and best practices

Strong problem solving an analytical thinking skills

Demonstrated management, leadership, interpersonal, and excellent oral and written - - communication skills, with sound judgement, and the ability to drive decisions through consensus and influence

Effective communication skills at varied levels up to C-suite executives

Experience with and understanding of Middleware, Server, Containers and AWS Cloud Hosting Technologies.

Ability to be in an on-call rotation and deal with high severity incidents

On-call, escalation point for business products

Relationship mapping of very complex environment. Document and memorize.

Excellent at managing relationships, extraverted, carries a presence to each meeting, in the front row, wall flowers aren’t going to cut it.

Broad understanding of how technology works, from Infrastructure to Application Development

Outstanding solver of complex problems.

Ability to both lead and participate in SRE activities, get hands dirty when necessary.

Passionate and obsessed with platform availability, reliability and operational excellence.
