Job DescriptionU.S. Bank’s Commercial Banking division is one of the largest providers of financial solutions in the United States. We are looking for a top-performing Commercial Banking Credit Portfolio Manager (PM) to join our team.

Portfolio Managers partner with Relationship Managers and product specialists to successfully manage all aspects of Commercial Banking credit relationships including: prospect/client calls, underwriting, negotiation, documentation, ongoing monitoring of financial/covenants, etc. We look to successfully grow revenue by closing new credit relationships and by retaining/expanding existing relationships.

Responsibilities include: underwriting all types of credit exposure for middle market companies with revenue between $25 million and $1 billion, managing a large portfolio of existing credit relationships, successfully closing new credit relationships and expanding existing relationships, managing credit risk and compliance, responding to prospect/customer credit questions, and making independent/joint calls on assigned portfolio.

The position is based in Orange County (Newport Beach). Currently the position is primarily worked from home. As early as September, the position will be a flexible “hybrid” working arrangement with 3 days in office.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Seven to ten years of commercial banking experience

Preferred Skills/Experience - Extensive knowledge of commercial lending, applicable laws and regulations, credit quality standards, company and business line policies and procedures - Strong relationship management / communication skills - Thorough knowledge of diverse credit products - Experience in managing single bank and syndicated credits - Experience with working capital, equipment, and commercial real estate secured loans including both underwriting and documentation - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company - Well-developed written communication and verbal presentation skills
