U.S. Bank Quantitative Model Analyst - Multiple Locations in New York, New York

Job DescriptionResponsibilities Build, document, support, implement and/or run advanced econometric models for macroeconomic forecasts

Research historical macroeconomic trends in expansionary and recessionary periods to determine cyclical trends, economic expectations, and reasonability of forecasts

Clearly explain economic scenario narratives, variances between forecasts and reasonability of assumptions

Create, enhance, and maintain processes and controls used to capture, document, and distribute scenarios in compliance with bank and regulatory policies

Manage the development, documentation, and distribution of scenarios for CECL and DFAST stress tests including reporting and presentation data

Provide strategic direction and guidance to senior management and operating committees on economic forecasts under various conditions and uses

Ensure models are validated in compliance with internal policies and procedures

Address independent review issues in compliance with Company policies and procedures

Build and maintain relationships with industry peers and regulators on evolving and best practices

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, and four to six years of experience in statistical modeling OR - Master's degree in a quantitative field, and less than four years of experience in statistical modeling

Preferred Skills/Experience Two to five years of experience in economics, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, risk management or related field

Experience with database, statistical or programming language(s) (SAS, Python, R, SQL, MatLab)

Experience with complex functions and Excel macros and/or VBA

Proficient in MS Office Products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Experience with large and complex data sets

Strong statistical modeling background based on technical training or advanced education in a quantitative field

Thorough knowledge of various regression techniques, parametric and non-parametric algorithms, times series techniques, and other statistical models, various model validation tests/methodologies, using SAS or similar statistical package

Strong data compilation and qualitative analysis skills

Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk factors, industry risks, competition risks, and risk management approaches

Experience working with independent review functions (e.g. audit, model risk management)

Experience working with economic and financial market indicators

Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an emphasis on informing others, asking intelligent questions and challenging the status quo

Ability to work well in a high-paced team-oriented environment

Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities to meet deadlines

Ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of individuals from risk, finance, technology, and internal oversight groups
