U.S. Bank’s Model Risk Management is looking for a Quantitative Validation Manager with a strong background in CCAR/CECL credit risk modeling to lead an established team in Model Risk Management.
The Quantitative Validation Manager is a senior-manager role in the Bank’s Model Risk Management (“MRM”) organization. You will work closely with validation teams as well as executive management to ensure that the firm’s framework and methodology of CCAR/CECL implementation is robust and reliable. This is a highly visible position with an opportunity to drive model risk management best practices and make a meaningful impact on the future direction of the company. You will work with senior leaders and members of the team to help define, design, and implement validation scope and strategy for CCAR/CECL credit risk model validation.
Specifically, we are looking for a candidate with strong leadership in quantitative modeling and validation. The candidate must be an expert in the development and/or validation of credit risk models and has an advanced to expert understanding of applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include managing a team, leading all phases of model validation, and interacting with senior management and regulatory agencies (OCC and FRB). The position requires expert level of presentation, relationship building, communication skills. The candidate must have strong ability to influence, challenge, and engage high-performing teams of modelers, statisticians, risk managers and decision scientists as well as executive management.
Bachelor’s degree (MA/MS/PhD strongly preferred) and eight or more years of relevant experience
Four or more years of experience leading a quantitative modeling team
Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as: Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Physics, or a related field.
Proficient in the SAS and/or R programming languages.
Excellent knowledge in statistics, mathematics, and financial modeling.
Experience in CCAR/CECL model development or validation.
Critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (ability to explain complex ideas in simple, non-technical language).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, business line managers, and colleagues across the bank.
Highly motivated with the ability to learn and to understand various business lines and their functions within the organization.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks effectively.

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $135,490.00 - $159,400.00 - $175,340.00
