Responsible for the legal affairs of a large segment of the company, a major business line, or in a particular area of the law. Provides advice, guidance and counsel at an intermediate-to-advanced level of sophistication on a broad scope of legal matters or problems to the general counsel, corporate executives, and/or senior mangers. Leads and executes major legal projects within the company. Represents the company on the most complex legal matters and/or has moderate interaction with government regulators. May be a specialist in a particular area of the law. Works under minimal supervision. May manage, coordinate, and assign the work of legal and support staff, and may be responsible for managing the work of outside legal counsel.
Licensed by and in good standing with the appropriate state bar association or other appropriate state attorney licensing authority
Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations impacting the subject matter and/or business line supported
Strong public speaking skills
Excellent writing and communication skills
