Job DescriptionAs a Site Reliability Engineer, your role will be a combination of supporting production applications and proactively looking for ways to automate your discoveries, eliminate incidents from recurring and/or reduce the time it takes to get our customers back up and running. In addition, you'll focus on improving the following for our applications: availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and effective proactive monitoring. The site reliability engineer interfaces with business users, development teams and system administrators to ensure systems perform to meet their business needs and specifications. Responsibilities include: Developing, coordinating, and conducting technical reliability studies on engineering designs to assess the likelihood that a product/process performs its intended function over the intended lifecycle. Measuring and analyzing the reliability of the design, processes, cost, and final products of production. Recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Completing risk analysis studies of new designs and processes. Undertaking testing and analysis on failures, proposing changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience- Eight or more years of relevant work experience in business and risk analysis,

Preferred Skills/Experience - Deep experience in more than one of the following infrastructure technologies: Database, - Network, Virtualization and Storage systems. - Experienced in one or more of the following programming languages (Python, Go, Javascript, Java) - Working knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies - Understanding of Restful API approaches and frameworks - Experience with observability frameworks - Experience using tools that measure and report on team performance - Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet, Chef) - Demonstrated problem-solving, project management, and teamwork/collaboration skills - Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills - Strong budgeting and time management skills with attention to detail - Excellent communicator both verbally and written - Experience with Middleware, Server, Containers and AWS technologies. IT Service Management, production support, product/project management, or application development - Ability to be on-call, and manage high-priority incidents - Ability to understand and map complex applications and environments. Ability to document and commit key components to memory. - Excel at managing relationships, and carrying a presence to each meeting. - Ability to solve complex issues and quickly eliminate components not at fault to get to the root cause. - Passionate about platform availability, reliability and operational excellence.
