Job DescriptionAt US Bank we love to amaze our customers, so we’re dedicated to creating amazing experiences through our customer’s primary touch point – the user interface. We call it Shield Interfaces, an enterprise-wide, white-labeled design system and UI component library that is the foundation for all our digital properties and platforms – web, mobile, wearables, ATM, and voice.
You will fill the role of experience technology lead for our Interfaces Create teams (Foundations, Flows, Build, and Maintain) - directly managing four tech teams, and you'll report directly to the Director of Shield Experience Technology.
You will work closely with our enterprise web and mobile design and technology practice leads and collaborate directly with your peer design and tech Interfaces leads on the “Shield in the Field” team and our Shield documentation team.
You will design, architect, and ultimately determine the correct structures and processes to create a decoupled UI system that is built upon atomic principles, universal reuse, accessibility, and semantic structures.

You know all the pieces at the single Lego level. All the processes, all the domains, all the delivery steps from concept to building to testing and deploying – and ultimately how it all comes together in the UI. You can design, you can code, and you innately think in inheritance models, design patterns, separation of concern, and abstraction.
Focuses on technological solution delivery by guiding and inspiring strong coding practices and solid software design decisions among their team. Responsible for growing and mentoring engineers as it relates to technical skills and career development. Assists with cross-team strategic efforts, influencing decisions to achieve efficient delivery of business value. Understands cross-team technical roadmaps, advocating new product abilities based on technical strategy and constraints.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Six to eight years of relevant technical experience - Five or more years of leading a software engineering team
Preferred Skills/Experience - Complete understanding of the team's domain and drives the team's objectives and deliverables with an understanding of adjacent teams' business domains - Complete understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose - Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of business strategy and how the technical and engineering strategy aligns to this - Advanced knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools, especially industry specific applications - Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures - Strong analytical, product management, tactical planning and leadership skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to communicate with all parties involved in the product team (engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, customers, etc.) - Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills
