About the team

The Shield Interfaces Team is responsible for creating reusable components and React standards at U.S. Bank. We work with individual product lines to on board them to our Shield Design System and teach them our ways of working. The candidate filling this role with be working with developers both onshore and off as well as designers, product owners and strategist to increase speed to market and decrease costs.

What you will do

Utilizes technical expertise and leadership skills to resolve issues, ensure product goals are met. Works to drive both high level and detailed technical designs, conducts technical reviews and define solution requirements and technical implementation approaches. Defines the team's roadmap in line with the company and technology vision. Adept with agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. Able to communicate with all parties involved in the product team (engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, end users, etc.) Proficient understanding of front-end practices, algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices. Excellent communication, presentation skills, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills. Proven collaboration and influencing skills.

Collaborate with developers across multiple products within a segment

Consult development teams in creating re-usable components

Work with both off-shore and on-shore teams to deliver reusable components

Teach best practices and development standards to teams learning our system

Provide thought leadership and feedback while contributing to our front-end strategy

Basic Qualifications

Eight - ten years plus software development experience .

Preferred skills/experience

Strong understanding of React.js (16+ years)

Strong understanding of HTML5, SCSS, ES6(7+ years)

Strong understanding of building accessible components

Experience with WCAG standards

Experience working with large teams

Strong understanding of project life cycle methodology (PLM) and testing methodologies / procedures

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership and negotiation skills

Experience with Functional Programming practices

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners and independently drive projects and decisions
