Design and implement risk management oversight for capital rules interpretation and implementation. Participate in, and influence, decisions regarding the organization's capital strategy and capital adequacy. Additionally, this leader needs an expert understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that affect the organization. This visible role will interact directly with other senior leaders and regulatory agencies (OCC and FRB), requiring expert level of presentation, relationship building, and negotiation skills. They will be respected across the organization for expertise in multiple risk areas that impact capital metrics and capital adequacy. Lastly, a successful candidate will also possess the skills needed to effectively and credibly communicate with Treasury, Risk Management teams, and regulators in an evolving regulatory and economic environment.
Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
Typically more than 15 years of applicable experience
Substantive experience interpreting and implementing capital rules for a large banking organization
Experience with risks that impact capital such as Interest Rate Risk, Credit, Operations and/or Market Risk
Strong working relationships with regulators, and the ability to manage through ongoing regulatory change.
Considerable understanding of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
Effective skills at managing stressful situations
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
Applicable professional certifications
This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $154,955.00 - $182,300.00 - $200,530.00
