Job Description

The Global Corporate Compliance group within U.S. Bancorp Risk Management & Compliance is seeking a strategic, experienced, self-sufficient individual to manage complex and cross-functional regulatory change projects to ensure regulatory changes affecting the Company are identified, evaluated, and implemented in a coordinated and prioritized manner.

In the delivery of highly governed projects to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and other regulatory expectations, the Regulatory Change Manager partners with key internal stakeholder groups, including the Law Division, Business Line Chief Risk Offices, Risk Program Owners and subject matter experts. The Regulatory Change Manager is responsible for managing regulatory change projects in a thorough and disciplined manner, and is responsible for communication, reporting, and escalation to senior and executive management, senior operating committees, and the Board of Directors where necessary.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure assigned projects are effectively and timely managed in accordance with Regulatory Change Management Policy and program expectations

  • Independently facilitate the evaluation of business line impact, assessment of the inherent risk of the change, identification of risk, and execution of a remediation plan to mitigate identified risks for each assigned project

  • Synthesize complex, multi-faceted project information into simple and effective project updates and reporting for senior and executive management at routine frequencies

  • Escalate concerns related to project execution to senior and executive leadership in a timely manner in coordination with key project stakeholders; take the initiative to resolve project issues in a self-sufficient manner

  • Ensure the proper documentation has been collected to demonstrate effective change management and evidence organizational compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Identify synergies with Risk Management & Compliance programs that intersect with regulatory change projects, including business change, third party risk management, quality assurance, and risk assessment; develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with the same

  • Interact directly with senior managers, requiring an advanced level of presentation, relationship building and negotiation skills - this position will also have exposure to regulatory agencies on an as needed basis

  • Lead or support the delivery of other key RCM initiatives as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically 10+ years of experience in an applicable risk management or project management environment

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Management or leadership experience

  • Proficiency in regulatory requirements relevant to the financial services industry

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including conflict resolution

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service (internal/external)

  • Possesses knowledge of Risk/Audit/Compliance competencies, including knowledge of key compliance risk management processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Archer eGRC, and business intelligence reporting tools

  • PMP, CRCM, J.D., or other applicable professional certification

This role is hybrid from Minneapolis, Charlotte, Cincinnati, or Chicago. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at a U.S. Bank location, while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.
