Job Description

U.S. Bancorp Asset Management (USBAM) is seeking an Institutional Sales and Relationship Manager that will strengthen the USBAM relationship with new and existing institutional clients, primarily for Money Market Mutual Funds. The successful candidate will be a client-centric and growth-oriented investment professional who can identify and pursue opportunities and exceed deliverables to ensure retention and expansion of existing client relationships to increase market share and profitability. This individual will provide daily account management guidance and communication to service partners and will act as an escalation point in facilitating problem resolution. This individual will work closely with investment team, other sales and relationship management staff, product, risk, legal, and compliance professionals to provide superior client support.

Essential Functions

  • Focuses on identifying and qualifying prospective and current Money Market Mutual Fund clients, leading formal presentations, and working to gain commitment and funding.

  • Develops and manages active pipeline in support of annual goals, including active participation in sales reviews.

  • Works with internal service partners to ensure smooth implementation of new client accounts and existing client account management. Provides superior account management support and fund flows communication to portfolio management and trading teams.

  • Gain and leverage in-depth knowledge of USBAM products and services to create innovative ways of educating clients and prospects on current market events and investment opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

Qualified applicants should have substantial knowledge of capital markets, business development experience, knowledge of liquidity and fixed-income securities or comparable offerings, and experience working in or with institutional investors. Individuals interested in this role should possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, highly organized and have demonstrated success working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience

  • Seven or more years of related business development or relationship management experience in the investment management industry

  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 or willing to obtain within 90 days of start date

Preferred Skills

  • Capital Markets knowledge and experience with in-depth knowledge of liquidity markets, including money market mutual funds and investment grade fixed income.

  • Working knowledge of company’s products and services.

  • Demonstrated relationship management and business development acumen, strong client orientation.

  • Strong organizational skills and savviness; ability to operate successfully in a team environment and cross-collaborate towards shared success.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Bank business lines, including GCTC, IT&C, Global Fund Services, and Wealth Management.

  • Well-developed analytic and problem-solving skills; fast learner.

  • Ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Power Point, Excel, and OneNote

  • Self-motivated and proactive to identify new opportunities.

  • Ability to travel on average 25%

Hybrid/flexible schedule:

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
