Job Description

The Business Banking Head of Treasury Management/Payments Sales reports to the Business Banking Head of Sales and is responsible for holistic sales delivery and execution for Payment (Elavon, Card, and Treasury Management) sales across all CBB regions. This role is responsible for driving growth in all Payment products and services for companies with annual revenue of $2.5MM to $25MM. The leader will provide leadership to a team of Payment Consultant Sales Managers to execute One Bank strategy and grow market share. This role will deliver strategic direction and leadership to sustain profitability, annual growth of the market, and retention of existing Payment relationships. Business Banking Head of Treasury Management/Payments Sales will partner with key stakeholders across the bank to develop, communicate and implement strong sales strategies to meet/exceed business objectives.

This role will develop and foster a strong sales culture using strategic leadership skills to positively influence change and culture transformation and articulate a clear future vision. The leader will develop sales strategies that incorporate client segments, market opportunities, external competitive forces, and sales force effectiveness through a comprehensive understanding of the market landscape, both through a client and competitor lens.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Executes sales strategies for growing revenue to achieve assigned financial targets and market growth goals. Drives sales teams to build a strong pipeline of prospects and clients.

  • Maintains key customer relationships and develops and implements strategies for expanding business banking client base and increasing client centrality.

  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen, including knowledge of small business banking products and solutions.

  • Actively lead Payment Consultant Sales Managers to optimal performance through a commitment to strong coaching routines and excellent coaching techniques; provide direct feedback to leaders while holding them accountable to business targets and people-leader goals.

  • Enable and inspire leaders to the highest standards of execution, driving consistency, problem solving and sound decision making while setting a clear team vision.

  • Build strong, effective partnerships with executives and leaders across the enterprise to work together and collaboratively remove roadblocks for success.

  • Develops a national sales strategy and sets sales objectives. Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned sales and revenue goals and retention objectives.

  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with payment product lines to ensure sales teams are knowledgeable on payment products and have consistent sales support, training, and other payment product line insights.

  • Represent U.S. Bank in the Community: Build relationships in the community and engage with local organizations, identifying business development opportunities as well as ways for U.S. Bank to make a difference in the communities we call home.

  • Do What is Right: Actively ensures compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with clients to understand each client's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services/business banking field

  • 10+ years of proven leadership experience building, motivating, and coaching a successful team of sales leaders

  • 10+ years of strategic planning and effective execution

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Must be present in the region and engaging with employees and customers on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Business Banking credit, credit quality and compliance standards

  • Strong knowledge of Business Banking TM and Payments policies and procedures

  • Previous experience driving a culture of excellence

  • Proven success leading a multi-unit business function

  • Strong strategic leadership skills to positively influence change and culture transformation and articulate a clear future vision

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to effectively motivate, coach and lead team of leaders

  • Results-oriented with strong decision-making skills to effectively identify, prioritize and problem solve

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
