Job Description

The Head of Strategy and Group Product Manager is responsible for creating strategic initiatives for our Corporate Payment & Treasury Services group. The leader will be driving the development of work plans, gathering and generation of relevant data, driving analyses, and creating actionable recommendations. This includes leading product directions, innovative market segmentation, business plan development, expense budgets, profit plans, and product enhancements or modifications to manage product life cycles.

Additionally, this visible role will collaborate with cross-functional teams leading work streams (sales, production, design, technical teams, etc.) to provide short and long-term recommendations to business executives that are meant to drive pathways to growth.


  • Drive profitability and growth of the business unit

  • Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the business with a view of diversifying revenue and gaining an additional share of the market

  • Create new markets opportunities for business unit

  • Conduct industry research and translate customer insights in order to inform strategic direction and leadership to pursue objectives of the business unit

  • Actively ensure compliance with all US Bancorp policies and procedures such as Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, etc.


  • Communicate highly complex strategic ideas and prioritize into actionable strategies to executive level audiences

  • Decisions are made in conjunction with major corporation programs, plans or strategies

  • Independent action is normally required although other division or senior managers are usually consulted before final action is taken

  • Probable errors would have a material effect on major functions of the corporation


  • 8+ years of banking or other relevant work experience

  • 10+ years’ experience within the financial services industry demonstrating consistent growth in responsibilities and accomplishments

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • BA or another related field

  • Master’s/MBA, or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Well-developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving/decision-making skills with the ability to understand a complex product portfolio and identity pathway to growth

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills, able to develop, document, and explain the strategy to diverse audiences, from technology to business from executives to staff

  • Ability to work across multiple cross functional teams with a variety of stakeholders to achieve objectives

  • Considerable tact, diplomacy and people skills
