Job Description

Our Global Head of Talent and Culture Enablement will work closely with senior leaders across the business and within the Human Resources function to develop and execute leading talent strategies globally for the firm. They will lead a team of talent professionals and report directly to our Chief Human Resources Officer.

The leader must have demonstrated strategic leadership and innovation experience in talent and culture portfolios, including interacting and effectively managing relationships with senior leadership, setting and executing strategic plans, and directly and indirectly managing team members to do the same. The leader must be able to successfully operate in a high-performing organization and have a track record of attracting and retaining high caliber talent.


As a direct report to the CHRO, the individual will be a valued member of the HR Leadership team at U.S. Bancorp, responsible for developing and executing the talent and culture strategic roadmap and agenda, focused on enabling the over-arching business strategy through talent.

  • Serve as our chief talent architect, creating the strategy and vision for a talent ecosystem which supports and contributes to organizational performance and culture. Will also be responsible for collaborating and consulting with executive leaders and HR stakeholders to align strategies and solutions with business imperatives for today and the future.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing innovative talent solutions, from early career through top executive talent. Will advance and iterate core talent solutions including performance management, leadership and executive development, talent assessments, coaching and mentoring, career development, talent calibration, employee retention, succession and talent planning. Will focus on aligning efforts across the enterprise to deliver an integrated talent ecosystem inclusive of culture for the enterprise.

  • Build upon a strong workplace culture to foster organizational effectiveness consistent with our Purpose, Core Values, and expected Behaviors. Build capabilities and practice of organizational development/effectiveness to increase business and individual performance, and a high performing organization.

  • Lead and manage a sophisticated team of talent professionals, focused on developing enhanced consulting capabilities, positioning the talent organization as a strategic partner for business leaders and across the business and Human Resources function.

  • Evaluate and refine performance and talent assessment and calibration processes and tools to improve results, enhance experience, further digital capabilities, and focus on delivering against the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) charter and priorities.

  • Utilize external market insights, as well as internal qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends and assess talent strategies, effectiveness, ROI and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with the Global Enterprise Recruiting team to research, develop, and implement a robust selection and assessment strategy and methodology to evaluate candidates across technical, leadership, and other relevant skills and attributes. Manage partners and vendors.

  • Assess and manage risk. Actively ensure compliance with all U.S. Bancorp policies and procedures such as Code of Ethics and federal, state, and local laws related to our talent processes, including adherence to all country-level European regulations, laws, and policies.


  • 15+ years talent management/human resources experience

  • 10+ years consulting experience, with a proven track record of implementing innovative talent solutions at an enterprise level

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related discipline. MBA, master’s degree, or HR certification preferred

  • Experience developing talent strategies and leading through organizational transformation and change

  • Complex problem-solving capabilities, ability to inspire and influence others though innovative ideas and change leadership

  • Experience consulting with executive stakeholders, leveraging strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build credibility across a broad range of stakeholders

  • Commercial mindset with a deep understanding of market trends, ecosystems of our industry, and emerging multi-industry themes

  • Experience in executing large scale programs, with a focus on employee centric and digitally forward scalable solutions

  • Demonstrated visionary leadership, with ability to lead through ambiguity, navigate and remove barriers, be agile, engage in continuous learning to be aware of emerging trends and best practice
