Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is currently seeking a Financial Analyst, who will support financial forecasting, analysis, and valuation of direct mail credit card acquisition campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering insights from historical data, applying them to develop financial forecasts, running financial models and aggregations, advising on the profitability of the targeted customer segments, and flagging any potential risks or opportunities associated with those segments. Additional responsibilities include: • Analyzes and interprets key performance data and communicates findings and recommendations; • Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of potential campaigns; • Interacts with cross functional teams (e.g. marketing, risk management, product, etc.) on developing financial assumptions and potential offer structures; and • Conducts ad-hoc analyses and prepares presentations to meet financial, regulatory/compliance, strategic, and/or risk/opportunity sizing goals.
Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience • Three or more years of related experience
Preferred Skills/Experience • Thorough knowledge of valuation techniques and financial metrics, including NPV, IRR, ROA/ROE, and other banking profitability metrics • Knowledge of payment industry and credit card economics and key drivers • Detailed financial modeling experience • Knowledge of bank-specific financial statements and key metrics (P&L, balance sheet, capital) • Ability to present complex data in a comprehensive, concise manner and think critically to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Ability to think “big-picture” while maintaining attention to detail • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable • Possesses strong interpersonal skills • Interest in learning new concepts and acquiring new skills • MBA and/or CFA
