Job DescriptionThis is a key partnership and advisory role to Elavon’s Finance organization which includes Strategy, Project Management Office, Partner Compensation and Accounting teams. This role also liaises with other enterprise Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals to create, implement, maintain, review and oversee an effective risk management framework.
In addition, this role: - Manages and participates in several concurrent projects and initiatives that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations - Identifies gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors - Identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate - Serves as a functional liaison between the Elavon and the Lines of Defense. - Actively seeks opportunities to gain greater understanding of business risk area as well as emerging issues & risks in the area through continued learning and educational opportunities
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Seven to ten years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience - Considerable knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies within the Finance area (SOX and other Financial controls) - Five or more years of finance experience - Experience in the Merchant Acquiring and/or financial technology space: Operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls preferred - Project management experience - Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact the payments business - Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills - Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously - Engages with applicable risk groups (e.g. Chief Risk Office, Second Line of Defense, Audit) to drive resolution of business risks and advocates for business needs and prioritization of issues as applicable - Establish and maintain positive working relationships - Organize, plan, and prioritize tasks and activities effectively - Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment - Resourceful and self-motivated - Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills - Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
