U.S. Bancorp Asset Management’s Strategy and Solutions Analyst (SSA) works closely with colleagues at all levels and solves challenging and complex business problems across various investment-grade product types. The SSA will own key deliverables within one or more workstreams – concurrently – in collaboration with team members and business partners to research, design and implement various strategic initiatives that are essential to preserving market share and growing the business. Will develop strong working relationships with business partners, subject matter experts, support teams and other key stakeholders. Combines a high-level strategic approach with an ability to be hands-on in executing tasks needed for the success of the strategic initiatives. Identifies and explores key business opportunities, obstacles and solutions. Works independently and in concert with sales and marketing to develop relevant messaging for marketing campaigns in support of any new product initiatives developed. The successful candidate will – through independent analysis of key trends, investor data and the competitive landscape – develop strategies, recommendations and implementation plans based on these opportunities and contribute to the fulfillment of the firm’s vision.
To that end, the SSA will participate in and oversee the progress toward both short- and long-term goals to meet USBAM’s strategic initiatives. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of investment-grade fixed income products and strong research and problem-solving skills. The SSA will also have product implementation responsibilities for any new product initiatives, which may include building requirements, sponsoring the implementations across all facets of the business and managing a cross-divisional project team to accomplish this.
Support the research, design and delivery of strategic initiatives spanning multiple business lines / functions
Gather intelligence and analyze best practices among competitor offerings to establish benchmark data, monitor success and uptake rates, using this information to develop and communicate development recommendations for strategic initiatives
Apply knowledge in managing projects, workstreams and related activities of the strategic initiatives while working with business leaders to shape and manage project scope, drive implementation and ensure sustainable outcomes
Provide objective recommendations with the aim of creating value, introducing competitive offerings, maximizing growth and contributing to increased business line market share
Manage the development of collateral material and sales training for any new products to ensure the sales department is provided with appropriate knowledge and tools
Ensure any new products meet state and Federal regulatory requirements and coordinate legal review of all supporting collateral materials and documentation
Craft business case, strategy and go to market execution of the initiatives
Create and manage stakeholder updates, including executive-level presentations
Train, coach and mentor project team members
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Six or more years’ experience in consulting, financial services or a strategy role required
Strong analytical and quantitative aptitude
Demonstrated research capability with an emphasis on problem solving
Outstanding flexibility, teamwork and leadership skills
Strong investment knowledge and demonstrated sound decision making / strategic thinking under pressure, reflecting an understanding of our industry, business, priorities and initiatives
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Data gathering, analysis and visualization experience
Experience with project management software, such as Visio, a plus
Drive for results, conveying a sense of urgency and bringing issues to closure despite obstacles and opposition
Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, to define high-level strategic plans and execution of such
