Responsibilities

· Build, document, and run advanced econometric models for macroeconomic forecasts

· Provide strategic direction and guidance to senior management and operating committees on economic forecasts under various conditions and uses

· Provide leadership and guidance to others on scenario design, economic forecasts, and econometric forecasting methods

· Creating and maintaining regular reports, presentations, and publication materials on the U.S. macro economy, industry or regional performance

· Providing customized macro support to U.S. Bank business lines and clients' goals and needs.

· Ensure models are validated in compliance with internal policies and procedures

· Address independent review issues in compliance with Company policies and procedures

· Build and maintain relationships with industry peers and regulators on evolving and best practices

Basic qualifications

· Pursuing a master’s level degree

Preferredqualifications

· Pursuing a master’s degree preferably in Applied Economics or related field.

· Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to applied economic research

· Some knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends related to scenario design

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on educating and informing others

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills

· Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects, and people project management, organizational, and analytical and problem-solving skills

· Experience with large and complex data sets

· Experience working with independent review functions (e.g. audit, model risk management)

The internship position for which you’re applying may be placed under U.S. Bank’s subsidiary, Elavon. Elavon is wholly owned by U.S. Bank, the fifth-largest bank in the United States, and provides end-to-end payment processing solutions and services to more than 1.3 million customers in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
