Job Description

US Bank is looking for a successful Senior Data Governance Lead to support our Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) initiatives focused on our team's capabilities around the oversight and management of data around data quality, metadata, data testing, production monitoring and change control. The project work encompasses Data Analysis, Data Quality, Cloud Migration, Digital Transformation and Regulatory efforts. This role will collaborate with the business line and technology to identify, measure, analyze and remediate data quality problems through data analysis, data testing and information processing of large datasets. This role will report to the Director of Data Governance, and partners closely with business, risk, and technology teams to deliver meaningful data solutions to support enterprise and local priorities.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Effectively work in matrixed team of Data Governance and Data Quality Analyst professionals in support of the development and program delivery of the EDG's capabilities to address a specific business and/or regulatory need.

• Develop and implement data governance strategies related to data quality measurement, analysis, testing and remediation in support of Analytic Customer 360 Operations and other Enterprise Data Priorities.

Facilitate and lead the capture of AC360 metadata from various data sources and stakeholders.

• Research and build a detailed understanding of the problem to meet the needs of the EDG team and business partners.

• Work with technical, business and other stakeholder groups to support the collection, integration and retention of the data sources.

• Interpret and communicate the results in a manner that is understood by the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

  • Applicable certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science Preferred.

  • Banking/Financial industry or similar highly regulated industry

  • 5 + years of Data Governance, Data Quality and/or Metadata experience

  • Proficiency with programming language such as SQL,SAS, Python and/or R

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau

  • Willingness to continuously develop and acquire new technical skills, learn new tools & programming languages and Big Data techniques.

  • Experience working in a regulatory environment with knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends

  • Advanced knowledge of data governance, data architecture, data management and data governance tooling

  • Strong project management/business analysis knowledge and familiarity with - Agile Methodology concepts

  • Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
