Job DescriptionInfrastructure Engineer (AWS Cloud Environment)
Provide technical expertise and hands-on day to day support for all Opayo IT infrastructure components. Offer technical assistance to projects requiring system administration or infrastructure skills. Proactively manage, monitor and maintain infrastructure components. Assist in maintaining highly available, highly resilient and secure payment systems in line with frameworks and legal requirements. Act as a first point of contact for all 3rd line infrastructure and system administration calls.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership: Maintain call queues for 3rd line across all infrastructure disciplines Own and deliver monthly patching cycles in line with security requirements Perform user account maintenance across varying systems Build infrastructure components to support day to day operations & projects Act as a project resource for infrastructure and system administration Perform basic capacity management function to ensure appropriate availability Take part in the infrastructure on-call rota Take part in the change process and change lifecycle Maintain documentation for all key infrastructure components Act as first point of call for all network / infrastructure / AWS related issues
Skills, know-how and experience:
Must have: Strong AWS skills ideally in a highly available hybrid environment Understanding of networking (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP) Wintel and Linux Administration Active Directory administration and maintenance Scripting and automation - Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GIT, Jenkins, Ansible
Preferred: Linux administration Security PCI-DSS or Payments experience SQL Database
Technical / professional qualifications: AWS, Microsoft, Cisco or other qualifications would be advantageous
Key performance indicators: Assist in delivering “four nines” service uptime across the production estate Maintain minimum vulnerability footprint through effective and timely patching Keep all infrastructure calls updated and customers informed / meet SLA’s Advising on technical infrastructure aspects of projects and products
