Job DescriptionProvides advice and counsel on a variety of routine legal matters to U.S. Bank or its affiliate's management or the management of one or more assigned business line. Works under supervision and executes legal projects within the company. Represents the company on routine legal matters and may be a developing specialized expertise in a particular area of the law.
Responsibilities Works under supervision and executes legal projects within the company and carries out other essential responsibilities including: Work with management and professional staff to develop and modify practices and procedures to conform with legal requirements.
Draft, review, and/or revise a variety of instruments involving the company’s interests or the interests of customers.
Act as a liaison with outside legal firms.
Advise and/or represent U.S. Bank or any of its affiliates in certain litigation, if and to the extent required by specific job description.
Keep informed of legislation affecting various company operations.
Confer with management, staff, customers, and other legal counsel on a variety of legal matters.
Preferred Skills/Experience Thorough and current knowledge of EU and/or UK laws and regulations impacting the subject matter and/or business line supported by the legal counsel. Ideally qualified in one of the following jurisdictions: Poland, Germany, Spain or Norway.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective public speaking skills
Qualifications Qualified Solicitor/Legal Advisor within an EU or UK Jurisdiction - Licensed by and in good standing with the appropriate regulatory authority (e.g. The Law Society).
