U.S. Bank Enterprise Strategy Director in Lansing, Michigan

U.S. Bank (USB) is currently seeking an Enterprise Strategy Director, who will be actively involved in creating the enterprise strategy across all business units and corporate functions at USB. This role will work very closely with USB executives, partnering with them on the development, implementation, and monitoring of the key strategic objectives and priorities of the firm.

The Enterprise Strategy Director will leverage his/her proven track record and prior successes in order to immediately support USB’s current strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the development of a best-in-class strategicplanning process at both the enterprise and business unit levels;

  • Provides support in leading and driving the three-yearstrategic planning process on an ongoing, annual basis;

  • Leads the enterprise, strategic initiatives across thecompany;

  • Aligns business strategy processes with corporateprocesses;

  • Supports the governance and monitoring system acrossthe organization to meet regulatory requirements, as well asorganizational needs; and

  • Supports key management processes for effectivestrategy execution.

This leader will work closely side-by-side with the senior leaders and have a very visible role within the company. As a result, the Director will possess a high level of intellectual horsepower and political gravitas that gains him/her immediate credibility. This Director will be able to convey complex materials to senior executives with exceptional verbal and written communication skills and have a strong executive presence.

A veteran in the world of strategy and consulting, the ideal candidate possesses deep familiarity and hands-on experience within financial services. This leader will be responsible for driving and delivering detailed work on key corporate-level strategic issues that will include both assessments of new opportunities for the corporation and the evaluation of current businesses. He/she possesses an indisputable work ethic with a hands-on approach defined by a strong intellect, professional charisma, leadership skills, resiliency, and a track record of proven results in enterprise strategy and business consulting across the world of financial services. A seasoned strategy professional familiar with large, multi-faceted organizations, the Enterprise Strategy Director possesses experience in a corporate setting for a Fortune 500 company and/or top-tier consultancy, complemented by work within the field of financial services, preferably banking. He/she will have broad exposure to the business and understand a client view across a banking organization. Additionally, he/she will bring a familiarity with financial statements and how different parts of the bank’s balance sheets and income statements work together to impact financial metrics.

  • Experience in the following areas:

  • Leading high-profile, cross-functional strategicinitiatives, from both process management and thought leadershipperspectives

  • Solving complex business problems using amulti-disciplined, analytical, and fact-based approaches

  • High level of intellectual curiosity and persistence,sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, fact-based andpragmatic approach, and high level of intellectual and ethical courage

  • Skill to communicate effectively in business contexts,both orally (speaking well and listening well) and in writing, to bothsenior and more junior audiences

  • Capability to build effective working relationships atall levels of an organization, as well as leverage those relationships toinfluence business decisions and outcomes

  • Ability to manage and supervise the work of others up,down, and across the organization, including both direct reports andothers involved in an initiative on a virtual or matrixed basis

  • Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm

  • Five-plus years of management experience

  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently

  • MBA or similar advanced degree from top-tierinstitution

  • Experience in the payments or financial services
