As a division of U.S. Bank’s Payment Division, Elavon is now leveraging the recent acquisition of talech’s digital capabilities to support our growth – adding to the 5 billion annual transactions we process annually. RPS Credit and Collections, as a component of the U.S. Bank Payments division is supporting that growth by building enhanced, intelligent systems to support our risk, fraud, and collections functions.
This role is an opportunity for leadership on the Payments Risk Infrastructure Excellence team - a centralized team that spans Card Processing and Merchant Payments. From the ground-up - the group designs, builds, implements, and maintains intelligent decision systems that drive our credit, fraud, and collections functions. We look for cross-functional leaders who work well in groups and thrive on seeing their visions come to life. Our teammates drive the systems we build, with direct impact on the customers we serve.
This role owns construction and maintenance of two core risk management processes for the Elavon payments business, initially supervising two direct reports – but directing the efforts of large Agile journey teams that construct the systems. (1) Own construction of a new platform to manage the real-time credit and liquidity assessments of Elavon’s 100+ airline customers (opportunity to create a custom platform, no industry standard) – “Airlines 360” (2) Own streamlining the Collections platforms in North America and Europe, reducing the sprawl of legacy systems to an efficient, controlled set of applications that support Elavon’s business globally Lead all senior and executive management discussions on platform design and process execution Provide a multi-year, MVP/generational vision for how each system is designed – partnering with all business lines to architect a cohesive system blending automated and manual operations Write and support the business requirements, leading integration and pre- and post-implementation testing Lead administration of the platforms post-launch Lead the design of the supporting data infrastructure – enabling opportunity creation and effective process monitoring Partner with product and process owners, architects, UX Design, Agile teams, and all control functions to evangelize the best solutions and facilitate execution across various stakeholders Be a hands-on leader who excels at process-system design to drive discovery with business partners and ensure the most critical business processes are supported with the best possible processes. Present persuasively and authoritatively to peers and senior leadership, while facilitating collaborative conversation. Mentors team members who show potential for team leadership Ensure process design provides stable process support for all regulatory and compliance requirements Supervise the team supporting the Airlines 360 platform Maintain current on market forces impacting processes – endorsing changes necessary to remain at the top of the industry in all capabilities
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management/collections environment
Preferred Skills/Experience Hands-on experience building and using automated decision or collections systems Ability to query large databases, understand the output, and recommend designs and solutions based on the resulting data Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business Expert knowledge of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
