As a UX engineer at U.S. Bank you are at the heart of creating our customer’s digital experiences for devices, at our branches, and our ATM’s.

You’ll need a healthy passion for atomic principles, fluid grid, design systems, tokens, JavaScript, React, DevOps, automation, systems level thinking, machine learning, and of course an exceptional attention to detail and quality

You will be a member of an enterprise wide UX Engineering practice where the primary objective is to build for the future with our Shield design system – and to deliver amazing experiences for web, mobile, wearables, ATM’s, and in-branch systems.

You’ll be the glue between UX and engineering, not just “the bridge”. You will work closely on small to mid-size teams with our researchers, UX designers, accessibility experts, product owners, and of course the broader community within the technology group.

You’ll be aligned to one of our new Platforms Reuse and Interface teams, one of our business segment product teams, or the enterprise Shield design system team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience

  • Six to eight years of related work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

-Master knowledge of UX best practices, interactive design principles, guidelines, including current mobile accessibility standards

-High proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Swift or Objective-C and an understanding of iOS SDK

-Strong skills in analyzing system logs and debugging

-Good written, verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team

-Proven experience with writing, releasing, maintaining mobile applications

-Design system tokens, version control processes, unit testing, and accessibility.

-Communicating effectively with your product team on domain, design, coding, and architectural approaches

-Author technical documentation to support delivery, maintenance, adoption

-Design and develop automated deployment and maintenance mechanisms

-Prepare for and provide regular demonstrations on approaches and deliverables.

-Prepare demos, proof of concept systems, and prototypes

-Experience working with DevOps and Agile development models

-Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

-Experience with performance analysis and optimization

-Strong UX skills in Interaction, Visual Design, and animation

-Experience with code review and mentoring to help fellow engineers grow, improve, and adopt

-Commitment to test-driven approaches
