Job DescriptionThe U.S Bank Home Mortgage Compliance Risk Management Specialist (CRMS) position supports Mortgage Origination, to ensure compliance with applicable consumer banking laws and regulations. This position is responsible for complex functional segments of the Corporate Compliance Consumer Banking program, evaluating and analyzing information from U.S. Bank Home Mortgage, particularly as it relates to certain functions and governing regulations. Devote significant time to ensuring compliance programs meet all applicable laws and regulations. Review and analyze internal and external regulatory information and coordinate with responsible parties to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Monitor and follow-up on outstanding compliance concerns and issues and ensure timely resolution. Collaborate with management and staff in areas affected by changes in products, systems, vendors or personnel to ensure ongoing compliance. Promote understanding and implementation of policies and procedures in support of mortgage origination requirements.
Position Responsibilities: - Foster cooperation and involvement from CRMS partners, legal partners, business partners, and management - Work collaboratively across multiple business functional units on reportable regulatory matters and compliance management initiatives - Act under the U.S. Bancorp Customer Complaint Policy to review and advise business line partners regarding escalated complaints, as well as perform root cause analyses and issue identification - Provide compliance guidance in regulatory change, business change and/or issue management related projects as well as during regulatory audits and examinations - Provide compliance review of business line procedures and customer communications in applicable systems. - Guide development of appropriate regulatory compliance policies, processes and systems to meet regulatory expectations and protect the interests of U.S. Bank - Participate in the Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment (ECRA) process to ensure the appropriate consumer lending regulations and laws are followed, respond to or escalate inquiries as appropriate - Support implementation of the ECRA Risk Policies, Procedures and Methodologies - Review the controls related to all relevant risk, compliance with laws and regulations, established compliance programs, internal controls and operational processes - Review and assess risks associated with business, product and vendor changes, including through the BCRA processes - Monitor, follow-up and track the resolution of risk and control matters through use of corrective action plans and effectively escalating issues in a timely manner in accordance with the program policies and procedures. - Manage and support communication channels and forums to appropriately escalate regulatory risks and issues across the enterprise - Contribute to regulatory risk management reports for stakeholders and senior management - Perform other duties as requested by management
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Seven to ten years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience - 7 or more years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal or related business line required, with 2 years in mortgage origination compliance/legal preferred - Strong knowledge of government and consumer lending laws and regulations, in depth understanding of regulatory applicability to mortgage origination, particularly with a strong working knowledge of TILA, ECOA and FCRA. - Understanding of mortgage origination operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls related to origination functions such as sales, operations, disclosure and closing requirements. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and think critically - Must be able to prioritize work, effectively manage time and be adaptable to change - Ability to simultaneously research and manage multiple projects and deadlines - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - Detailed oriented - Ability to apply organizational skills in a wide variety of areas - Understanding of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $92,735.00 - $109,100.00 - $120,010.00
