Job Description:

As a highly skilled Software Architect for our open banking platform, you will play a pivotal role in designing and architecting robust, scalable, and secure solutions that enable real-time data sharing and collaboration within the financial ecosystem. We are looking for senior technologists who, along with their teammates, can build/prototype new ideas quickly, measure their effectiveness, and assess viability in the fast-growing Partner engagement practice.

Your expertise in cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure, distributed system design, and extensive experience with Snowflake for real-time data sharing will be instrumental in driving the success of our platform, and you will have the autonomy to define your roadmap, move at your own pace, and deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure solutions for our open banking platform leveraging cloud technologies, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

  • Lead the design and development of distributed systems that facilitate real-time data sharing and collaboration among financial institutions and third-party providers.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to define requirements and drive the implementation of architectural solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural principles.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and relevance to our platform.

  • Lead the developers in creating robust scalable solutions, following best practices, and taking advantage of Microservices architecture.

  • Embrace emerging technology opportunities, create POCs demonstrating new and improved designs.

  • Exhibit relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.

  • Be the point person for design and strategies based on business requirements, long-term strategy, and creative design.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly with open banking initiatives and APIs.

  • Strong background in scalable, low-latency distributed system design and architecture, including microservices, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake for real-time data sharing and analytics.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.

  • Previous experience designing and implementing data pipelines in a Lambda architecture.

  • Proven experience as a Software Architect or similar role, with a focus on designing and architecting cloud-based solutions.

  • Expertise in cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure, with a deep understanding of cloud services such as Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, etc.

  • Solid understanding of security best practices and principles, particularly in the context of financial services and regulatory compliance.

  • Demonstrated expertise with open-source technologies like Java, Springboot, Kafka, etc. and containerization.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $145,180.00 - $170,800.00 - $187,880.00
