Job Description

PFMAM’s Head of Portfolio Strategies Group (“PSG”) leads a team that supports the analytical needs of the Fixed Income Portfolio Management team, the Fixed Income Investment Committee, the Structured Products Group (“SPG”), and the firm’s strategically important clients and prospects. The PSG also serves as an analytical resource and liaison to the Distribution team. The PSG also works closely with PFMAM’s Chief Investment Officer (“CIO”) to provide analysis and reporting in support of the portfolio oversight and risk management functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee the strategy development process as it pertains to the firm's separately managed account ("SMA") business, including strategies pertaining to the investment of bond proceeds.

  • Oversee a team of Portfolio Strategists and Quantitative Analysts in conducting economic and market research in support of the fixed income decision making process.

  • Provide oversight of the Structured Product Group ("SPG") and the group’s related business plan; serve as a member of the Debt Service Reserve Fund Committee.

  • In conjunction with the PFMAM's Chief Investment Officer ("CIO"), support the portfolio oversight and risk management functions.

  • Serve as an active member of PFMAM's Fixed Income and Credit Risk Committees.

  • Oversee the timely production of economic, market, and investment strategy collateral material for external use by the PFMAM's Marketing and Distribution channels.

  • Support the informational and training needs of internal staff to create a consistent message as it pertains to PFMAM's fixed income views and portfolio strategy decision making process.

  • Serving as a fixed income subject matter expert ("SME") and support the creation of Thought Leadership materials to be utilized for external distribution.

  • Work directly with the firm's large and strategically important clients and prospects as representative of the portfolio management team; this includes developing individual client portfolio strategies and ensuring their consistent implementation. Present at prospect/client meetings and new business finalist interviews, as needed.

  • In support of Marketing and Distribution activities, present at industry conference and regional client training seminars as an economic and fixed income SME.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (finance, economics, business, mathematics, or a related field preferred) with a strong academic record

  • 8-10 years of direct experience in portfolio management, trading, strategy development, fixed income investment research or quantitative analysis

  • In-depth knowledge of fixed income securities, markets and portfolio management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg

  • MBA, CFA, or progress on CFA, a plus

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong team leadership and personnel management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Highest ethical standards with a strong sense of personal responsibility, risk management and compliance awareness

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,595.00 - $140,700.00 - $154,770.00
