Job Description

The Alternative Investment Supervisor 1 is responsible for supporting the investor services and operations team acting as a subject matter expert in areas included but not limited to investor allocations, fee calculations and investor return calculations. Completes funds setup in software to ensure appropriate settings are selected including but not limited to, unitized, item mappings, class/series setup, hurdles, benchmarks, multi-currency, etc. Liaise with internal and external developers regarding projects benefiting investor services department. Completes system testing before releases for quality assurance of existing reports as well as functionality of new releases. Review and prepare offline and system generated calculations to support new fund launches and existing fund updates including but not limited to, complex expense and waterfall/incentive fee calculations, regular and specialized PnL allocations, IRR, ROR on a partner or tranche basis based on the terms of the offering documents. Acts as the escalation point for all clients assigned to the team and directs issue resolution and process changes to support client needs. Proactively identifies risk-related issues through review of qualitative and quantitative data, anticipates obstacles and then implements mitigating solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Five or more years of experience in alternative investments industry

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Basic knowledge of Advent applications preferred

  • General knowledge and understanding of portfolio accounting and the investment management industry

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven team-oriented, leadership and organizational skills

  • CPA or CFA certification preferred
