U.S. Bank Consumer Mortgage Agile Journey Product Owner - Saint Louis, MO in EARTH CITY, Missouri


U.S. Bank is seeking an Agile Journey Product Owner to develop and drive the Journey Team’s vision and strategy for the Consumer Mortgage Home Equity product. The Journey Product Owner develops and drives the product vision and strategy, provides feedback to the journey team and helps to set and drive product’s short and long-term vision.


The Journey Product Owner is responsible for ensuring the Journey Team knows the value they are to deliver and drives toward simple solutions by managing a prioritized backlog. The Journey Product Owner must have a deep understanding of the target market/industry, strong understanding of customers and close relationships with key stakeholders in order to define the business strategy for the product.

Additional responsibilities for the Journey Product Owner position also include:

  • Leading and owning the outcomes of an Agile Journey Team typically consisting of 12-15 core team members.

  • Leading complex projects typically requiring 20 or more weeks to be completed but can be extended.

  • Owning the end-to-end journey strategy from inception and determine business value to be created.

  • Partnering closely with the Mortgage Experience Owner to develop and drive the journey vision and strategy.

  • Defining the roadmap for the journey’s target state and leading the Agile Journey Team to achieve this target-state solution.

  • Responsible for defining and prioritizing the journey backlog and to deliver on business vision and priorities.

  • Providing constant feedback to the agile teams and helps the teams follow a vision.

  • Responsible for ensuring the Journey team is aligned with project requirements they are accountable for.

  • Owning the end-to-end journey strategy from inception and determine business value to be created.

  • Defining an integration plan across the agile team to ensure seamless, end-to-end experience across the journey.

  • Working closely with the IT Architect and developers to see how the journey will integrate with the bank’s architecture and be re-usable across future journeys.

  • Ensuring customer-driven design across user pain points, market needs and usability test results.



  • Eight or more years of related experience.

  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience.


  • 10 or more years of experience in product and/or project management.

  • Product Owner experience in Agile Development.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant domains, products and journeys.

  • Recognized as an expert in assigned Journey area.

  • Established problem-solving expertise including ability to lead teams to progress and push them to solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate and indirectly influence others.

  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to be an “agent of change” and challenge the “status quo” in order to find new solutions and drive “out-of-the-box” ideas and innovation.
