Job DescriptionReporting to the Head of Applied Analytics within U.S. Bank’s Enterprise Analytics team, the Analytical Data Platform Product Owner will lead and own the design and creation of lending-focused analytical data at U.S. Bank. As the leader of a cross-functional team, this individual will build a complete picture of U.S. Bank’s lending business – ranging from digital interactions to demographics and operational metrics – to support marketing, sales, operations, and data science use cases within journey teams focused on mortgage, auto loan, and other lending needs.

In the first 18 months of their employment, the Data Platform Product Owner will partner closely with the heads of several analytics and marketing scrums to rapidly build out a prototype data store to support their use cases. This individual will own and lead an agile team of developers, driving day-to-day decisions and tracking and communicating progress to leaders and external teams. As enterprise and cloud platforms become available, this individual will lead a team to leverage those platforms, ensuring that the integrity and usability of the data keeps growing as the underlying technology changes.

Successful candidates for this role will have a passion for detail, optimization, and the intersection between database technology and analytical tools. Familiarity with testing and a variety of analytical tools and techniques will help them intuit the needs of data scientists and guide engineers to create the best and cleanest data to prepare. They will be expected to balance rapid progress with tuning and iteration –while teaching, advocating for, and representing the work of the larger team.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as econometrics, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics, or equivalent work experience - Six to eight years of statistics or analytics experience

Preferred Skills/Experience - Working knowledge of analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS and others to perform analysis and interpret data - Familiarity with modeling and optimizing a modern analytical database - 2+ years leading cross-functional teams, working experience within an agile environment - Demonstrated project management skills - Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
