Job Description
15 Month Fixed Term Contract
Elavon Financial Services (EFS), headquartered in Cherrywood, Dublin, extends to a branch network across Europe in the businesses of Payments Services and Wealth Management and Investor Services. Elavon is a wholly owned subsidiary of US Bancorp, the fifth largest financial holding in the United States.
The Corporate accounting function within EFS, is responsible for providing accounting solutions and support to our branches/subsidiaries, which includes providing support for the month end, quarter end and year end close and reporting process across IFRS, US GAAP and local GAAP (where applicable).
Principal Accountabilities
Manage & assist in the financial month end close process
Maintain adequate accounting and controls for various accounting functions
Prepare financial statements and reports
Dealing with External/Internal Auditor and management of audit programme within Europe.
Reviewing balance sheet reconciliation / substantiation on a monthly basis
Coordination with USB related functions (Regulatory reporting, Accounting Policy, External Reporting, treasury)
Building strong relationships with business lines and support functions, providing ongoing support and ensuring a high level of customer services
Implementing process improvements and efficiencies
Basic Qualifications
Qualified CIMA or ACCA or ACA
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
3 years + post qualified experience
Industry related experience preferred
Experience in multiple currency accounting preferred
Preferred Skills
Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis concepts and methodologies
Considerable knowledge of accounting theory practice, regulatory requirements and reporting
Ability to work on own initiative within the framework of an overall team
Strong verbal & written communication skills
