Job DescriptionU.S. Bank is looking to fill an opening for a Cloud Migration Manager to support cloud application onboarding and migrations to AWS, GCP, or Azure. This team consists of full stack engineers whose primary purpose is to provide either advisory or hands on help to teams looking to deploy their applications in the cloud. The Migration Manager will lead a growing team of engineers including senior cloud experts and experienced technologists learning the cloud for the first time.

This opportunity is best suited for an individual with strong leadership and technical skills. While the leader will not implement day to day migrations, its expected the leader has the skills to technically review implementations and coach technologists learning the cloud for the first time.

The Cloud Onboarding and Advisory team currently supports the migration efforts of approximately 15 teams as they proceed through a transition to the cloud. For some teams, this means embedding staff and working almost full time to support an application towards go-live. For some teams, this means weekly advisory sessions in technologies and platforms like AWS, Terraform, and Jenkins as well as how to implement an app at USB.

The candidate will be adept with the Agile Methodology and DevOps principles. Focuses on technological solution delivery by guiding and inspiring strong practices and solid environment design decisions among their team. Responsible for growing and mentoring engineers as it relates to technical skills and career development. Assists with cross-team strategic efforts, influencing decisions to achieve efficient delivery of business value. Understands cross-team technical roadmaps, advocating new product abilities based on technical strategy and constraints.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

Six to eight years of relevant technical experience

Five or more years of leading a software engineering team

Experience in a cloud providers: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Performed application migrations to a cloud provider.

Experience of scripting languages (python, bash, powershell would be a plus)

Experience of automation tools (Jenkins, Rundeck, Terraform, Ansible, Chef )

Other devops and modernization tooling that would be an added benefit would include gitlab, jira, kafka, elasticsearch, Jfrog Artifactory, Vault, and Packer

Extensive experience of working in a DevOps support model and Infrastructure as code

Experience working in a highly available, high transaction, production environment

Experience working in global PCI environments

Ensure all releases follow defined processes and procedures

Preferred Skills/Experience Advanced knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools, especially industry specific applications

Strong communication skills

Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures

Strong analytical, product management, tactical planning and leadership skills

Work closely with multiple engineering and product teams to drive neat and long term initiatives to improve our product and customer experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate with all parties involved in the product team (engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors, customers, etc.)

Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills
