Job DescriptionThe ServiceNow CMDB/Discovery/Service Mapping Engineer is part of the CMDB and Discovery Team. Service mapping/Discovery plays a key role in maintaining critical platforms to enable IT teams to successfully plan changes and manage incidents in the environment along with maintaining an accurate CMDB. The Service mapping/Discovery engineer will gather requirements and implement the service mapping for key services at US Bank. They will also create/maintain the Service Mapping to ensure its ongoing health through routine health checks as it relates to Service Mapping and all CMDB discovery related functions (troubleshooting, creating & maintaining discovery schedules, pattern remediation's)
Responsibilities include: Working with process owners to understand the process requirements related to the capture of configuration data and develop technical specifications and solutions Working with systems managers to ensure that the Discovery tool has the appropriate access and permissions to capture configuration information. Creation of custom discovery patterns as needed Discovery troubleshooting and pattern remediation Provide visibility to the performance and issues related to Discovery Collaborate with Infrastructure Architects to understand IT technology strategy that guide which requirements need to be gathered. Work with Application SMEs to create and validate Service Maps for key applications. Participate in Configuration Management meetings and Daily Scrums. Perform day to day administration of the ServiceNow Service Mapping, Discovery and CMDB, including mapping additional defined business services into the tool as defined. Maintain the integrity of the Service Mapping tool across production and non-production environments. Assisting in validating and troubleshooting patch / release management issues, and upgrades. Review the data being populated into the CMDB for accuracy.
Basic Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent work experience At least 7 years of experience within a general information technology (IT) environment At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping. Minimum of 5 years working in large scale configuration management databases or related IT organization. Experience integrating with tools to federate data into a CMDB.
Preferred Skills/Experience Highly desired: ServiceNow Discovery and Mapping experience with Public Cloud Vendors (GCP, AWS and AZURE). Highly desired: Experience working with LDAP, Active Directory and SUDO. Intermediate Windows and Unix administration skills. Familiarity with network concepts (routers, switches, firewalls, NAT, load balancing). Familiarity with the following concepts: XML, and JSON/script language. Familiarity with CMDB/discovery to discuss credentials, install a product, troubleshoot permission issues, discuss and trouble shoot network connectivity with network engineers. Acquaintance with Web and Application Servers, Load Balancers, Databases, and Virtualization (WebSphere, MQ, IIS, Apache, VMware). Strong written and verbal communication Good interpersonal skills, including collaboration, communication, relationship building, and negotiation. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools; Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00 - $136,400.00
