Job Description

This role is hybrid in Denver, CO or Atlanta, GA

The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Senior Credit Analyst supports Relationship Managers (Loan Originators) to manage an assigned portfolio of institutional CRE client relationships, specializing in underwriting unsecured loan products for REITs, Real Estate Funds and Public Homebuilders.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing accurate and consistent financial statements spreads, quarterly trend analyses, quarterly monitoring reports and covenant tests in accordance with bank spreading standards and credit policies

  • Researching markets/property types and valuing commercial real estate loan collateral while working together within a team of underwriters

  • Analyzing financial data and preparing comprehensive written analyses, analyzing portfolio credit quality, determining appropriate risk ratings, underwriting new loan originations, recasts, and modifications as well as preparing and presenting credit requests for credit approval

  • Maintaining a compliance monitoring and financial statistic database that tracks credit agreement requirements, receipt of customer’s financial reporting requirements, and credit metric trends

  • Providing guidance on credit structure and risk rating decisions and by participating in new deal discussions

  • Assisting junior credit analysts with management of their assigned portfolio as well as providing reviews of underwriting and credit memos to promote consistent quality and conciseness of work products.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Seven to ten years of commercial lending experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Background in economics, accounting, and/or finance and ability to apply knowledge in those areas to understanding the overall lending and business environment

  • Advanced knowledge of credit products

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong leadership ability to mentor and coordinate the work of others

  • Well-developed written communication and verbal presentation skills

  • Highly attentive to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
