Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Analyst to join our Business Banking Analytics team within our Enterprise Analytics & Customer Experience (EACX) Department. This role involves a blend of descriptive statistics, data visualization, advanced analytics, statistical analysis and data engineering to deliver insightful analysis and support strategic initiatives for our business partners in product, marketing and various stakeholders.
This analyst will develop holistic insights by working with partners in product, marketing, sales, customer experience, data engineering and various other analytical groups. The analyst will have a passion for generating impactful and actionable insights and opportunities from data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in descriptive statistics, data analysis, data visualization, data science and data engineering, combined with expertise in partnering with business partners as well as strong strategic analysis and effective communication. This candidate will be comfortable identifying and sourcing new data sources, developing automated pipelines, extracting, manipulating and analyzing the data, analyzing and developing effective visualizations, extracting actionable and impactful insights and the ability to partner, communicate and strategize with the business by leveraging the insights from the data.
Key Responsibilities:
Descriptive Statistics & Data Analysis:
Utilize descriptive statistics to summarize and interpret business banking data, providing clear insights into trends, patterns, anomalies and opportunities.
Perform in-depth data analysis to support various business functions, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights.
Dashboard & Reporting Development:
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present key metrics and insights to stakeholders.
Ensure dashboards and reports are user-friendly, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
Data Engineering:
Identify, source and manipulate new data sources and metrics for use in analysis.
Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure seamless integration and high-quality data availability for analysis.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure and resolve data quality issues.
Strategic Analysis:
Conduct strategic analyses to evaluate business performance, identify growth opportunities, and support strategic planning initiatives.
Provide actionable recommendations based on data-driven insights to guide business strategies and improve operational efficiency.
Problem Solving:
Address complex business problems with innovative analytical approaches and solutions.
Work cross-functionally to define analytical requirements, develop solutions, and implement strategies to address business challenges.
Advanced Statistics & Data Science (optional):
Apply advanced statistical methods and data science techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning, to uncover trends and drive data-driven decision-making.
Develop and implement analytical models to forecast trends, assess risk, and identify business opportunities.
Strategic Mindset:
Develop a deep understanding of business banking dynamics and market trends to contribute to strategic initiatives and drive business transformation.
Continuously evaluate and refine analytical approaches to stay aligned with evolving market conditions and business goals.
Ability to partner with product partners, marketing, strategic partners, customer experience, and various business partners to translate a business problem into an analytics exercise.
Presentation & Communication:
Communicate complex data findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through compelling presentations and reports.
Develop and deliver presentations that clearly articulate the value of analytical insights and recommendations using effective and easy to understand data visualizations.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
Five to seven years of statistical and/or data analytics experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
5+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, or a related field. Business banking or financial services experience preferred by not a requirement. Strong data querying skills using SQL and SAS.
Proficiency in descriptive and advanced statistical analysis and comfortable extracting, manipulating and analyzing large complex datasets.
Expertise in dashboard and report development using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Strong data engineering skills, including experience with ETL processes and data pipeline management.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, with a proven track record of translating data into actionable business insights.
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data findings to diverse audiences.
Location:
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
