Job DescriptionTechnical Platform Product Manager—Data, Analytics, and AI/ML Cupertino / San Francisco, CA

The Technical Platform Product Manager—Data, Analytics, and AI/ML will be responsible for product management for one or more facets of the U.S. Bank Unified Data, Analytics, and AI/ML Platform and will play a significant role in managing the platform tools and technologies enabling these areas. This stack is being built from the ground up on modern, open-source, cloud-based technologies with sponsorship from the highest levels of management to revolutionize the use of data throughout the Bank.

The Data, AI/ML, and Analytics area is a rapidly evolving space supporting a wide spectrum of capabilities from reporting to customer data platforms, and predictive analytics to machine learning and reasoning systems. Given the rapid pace and evolution of tools and frameworks in this space, the Technical Platform Product Manager will require both some baseline familiarity as well as ongoing commitment to deepening and staying current with a large number of technologies and tools within the data, analytics, and AI/ML space.

This role will be responsible for helping to drive functionality, user experience, and strategic product direction for one or more facets of the Platform. On a day-to-day basis, the role will involve working with business teams and other technical teams within U.S. Bank to understand their requirements, use cases, etc. for data platform / tools / infrastructure and to translate those needs into a clear product vision and roadmap. The Technical Platform Product Manager would also educate and evangelize for the Platform and have the opportunity to help shape how data, AI/ML, and advanced analytics can be leveraged to make an impact upon our product and user experiences and create business efficiencies. The role will also serve as a bridge to work closely on a sprint by sprint basis with multiple engineering teams to ensure key features and capabilities are built in priority of need / value, and designed to properly meet the needs of both customers / end users as well as internal customers / users of the Platform within U.S. Bank.

Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - 10 or more years of product management experience - Four or more years of managerial experience

Preferred Skills/Experience Strong product vision / focus with track record of successful delivery; ability to prioritize and make tough choices based on competing priorities

Experience with the use of Big Data to solve business problems, create new capabilities, and/or drive cost savings

Ability to communicate with users—understand their use cases and pain points, articulate value proposition of the products we are building

Understanding of one or more relevant technology areas: Cloud (GCP, AWS)

Data API’s (REST, GraphQL, etc.)

Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and Data Activation (both commercial and in-house / open source)

Fast key-value data stores like Cassandra

Full-text Search (one or more of Elastic, SOLR, Vespa)

Relational databases both traditional and distributed (Yugabyte / Cockroach)

Data Governance concepts (Data Dictionary, Lineage, Quality, etc.) and tools such as Atlas, Marquez, LinkedIn’s DataHub, etc.

Data and Analytics tools (Presto, Druid / OLAP tools, Visualization platforms like Superset, Tableau, etc.)

AI / ML tools and technologies (Jupyter notebooks, MLFlow, AutoML, Seldon Core, etc.)

Advanced Degree (Master’s or Doctorate)
