Job DescriptionServes as Design Lead – the “go to” leader of design – as assigned, for product(s) of high-complexity, large scope and broad impact; needing minimal guidance or supervision. Facilitative leader leveraging Design Thinking methods to guide group collaboration, ideation + customer-centered problem-solving. Influences their team to deliver AMAZING product experiences by collaborating cross-functionally to evolve, refine and execute elegant designs with compelling user interactions. Studies and understands competitors, market trends, customer wants/needs, and technical implementation to create the best product experiences — and explains/defends design choices with solid insights and well-reasoned rationales. Fully internalizes Shield design system, uses and actively evolves it by creating and improving components, microflows, templates and platform assemblies as our digital product needs evolve. Actively evangelizes Design by building relationships outside our working teams, participating in cross-functional/cross-organizational working groups, creating and presenting informative content & selling the benefits of great design. Drives the creation of insights based on qualitative and quantitative research.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, with an emphasis on English, Writing, Technical Writing, Journalism, Content Strategy, or Library Science preferred, or equivalent experience - Seven or more years of related work experience
Preferred Skills/Experience - Expert understanding of the principles of content strategy and information architecture as well as deep experience with user-centered design (from concept to delivery) - Significant experience writing a variety of digital content for instructional, transactional and marketing experiences – including navigation labels, form fields labels and messaging, error messages, contextual help messages, alert messages and FAQs - Deep experience with data collection and quantitative analysis - Strong skills in managing ambiguity, working autonomously and multitasking in a fast-paced environment - Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and delivering high quality work on schedule, including quickly turning around plans and reports - Exceptional at communicating complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization - Thorough knowledge of UX best practices - Familiar with delivering creative within an Agile environment -Experience working at an Agency or Startup
