Job Description The General Manager & Head of CPTS Transportation is responsible for leading our end-to-end payments businesses that serve our proprietary Freight and Fleet ecosystems. The position sits in our Corporate Payment & Treasury Solutions (CPTS) group, and will report to the President of CPTS.

Executive responsibilities include setting the business strategy and overseeing efforts across Sales, Relationship/Account Management, Product Management, Technology, Client Services, and Operations teams across the life-cycle journeys that support the business. This includes designing & building the verticals to ensure these payment solutions are best-in-class, real-time in nature, and agile to enable growth & reduce customer friction, while orchestrating the pathways to growth in the evolving industry sectors we serve.

Additionally, this leadership role will drive actionable results by leveraging market intelligence and cutting-edge resources. The role will coordinate with other U.S. Bank lines of business, shared service groups and clients, and will be accountable for all annual revenue and expense plan performance for the Transportation businesses. Lastly, they will ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations while operating in accordance with U.S. Bank’s Policy & Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES Drive profitability and growth of the business unit Build, recruit, and retain our highly skilled & innovative workforce to continue being a leader in the Freight and Fleet payments space – particularly through a solutions-oriented sales model Lead a multi-faceted growth strategy effectively with the right balance of customer-focus, innovation, cost efficiency, and profitability in mind Identify and develop strategic opportunities for the business, while leveraging internal resources & market intelligence to continue positioning U.S. Bank as a leader in Transportation-related payment solutions. Drive, communicate, and prioritize highly complex ideas and strategies to our most senior levels in the organization Partner with relevant internal teams (Business Development, Finance, Product, Operations, Technology, etc.) to align and drive competitive positioning & actionable goals for performance Prioritize and lead annual plans with relevant management & reporting metrics to appropriate executive committees, regulators, and risk/audit executives Actively ensure compliance with all U.S. Bank policies and procedures such as Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, etc.


FINANCIALS Oversee full business line P&L with prudent expense management Identify financial risks and opportunities monthly & quarterly and formulate forecast changes with Finance Lead the group’s annual CapEx review, submission, and approval process in conjunction with Finance Review and approve third party SOW and Invoice submissions across the group

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Lead the formulation of the group’s annual New Sales Goals Coordinate with the group Sales leaders to represent the performance at the Monthly Performance Review with CPTS President Provide guidance on pipeline priorities, and coordinate with Relationship Management leaders on annual Plan goals Participate in the group’s weekly Pricing Committee Present new customer or re-sign on pricing proposals to CPTS President and CFO as needed Represent the group in the quarterly Sales comp administrative process and actively participate in the formulation of strategic deal pricing Review and present any compensation expectations as necessary with Incentive Oversight Committee Directly participate in sales cycle as necessary for strategic prospect and customer retention efforts

PRODUCT Coordinate with Product leaders on the formulation of respective product priorities and on annual business plans Participate in the monthly and quarterly product prioritization process Review and approve new Product concepts via the PRISM process Initiate and coordinate any strategic pricing strategies as needed Review & present key product initiatives to CPTS President and Payments Vice Chair as needed

OPERATIONS Coordinate with Ops leaders on the formulation of the respective priorities Participate in the monthly Ops review process Oversee operational performance against established service-level targets Initiate as necessary continuous process improvement initiatives Ensure adequate recruiting and training processes are in place to achieve service level targets

QUALIFICATIONS 15+ years of relevant banking/financial services/transportation payments experience 8+ years of management experience BA in Business, Finance, Operations or related MBA/Masters preferred in Business, Finance, Operations or related Deep knowledge in the card payments industry, including current & future trends for digital/emerging payments Seasoned executive with demonstrated and consistent growth in responsibilities, accomplishments, and P&L responsibility Expertise in Sales, Relationship Management, Product Development, Operations. Knowledge of Corporate Payment & Treasury Solutions (CPTS) preferred Exceptional influencing skills; adept at driving organizational change through partnership, collaboration, and leadership rather than title line or authority Strong communication and interpersonal skills with executive presence Build trust-based relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization Gains commitment, trust, and support from others by involving them in the thinking and process Well-founded leadership skills – someone who has considerable tact, diplomacy, and team building skills
