U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives in our digital transformation journey.
This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing efficient, scalable, easily maintainable, and well abstracted code
Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs.
Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards. Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.
Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank's technology transformation.
Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Build data and machine learning models.
Participate in team discussions on improving our stack, processes, tooling, documentation, and mentor other engineers.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Three to five years of relevant experience
3+ years of experience in data engineering in Python/Scala/Java
Ability to work with relational databases and SQL and non-relational such as MongoDB, Amazon RDS (postgres)
Experience with orchestration and DevOps using any of: Airflow, Luigi, Jenkins
Experience with cloud technologies and data warehousing solutions such as AWS, GCP, Apache Spark, Redshift, S3
Experience designing performance distributed systems and data pipelines with reliability and monitoring
Working knowledge of building basic machine learning models in Python with Numpy, Pandas and Scikit. (Model deployment in cloud is recommended)
Working knowledge of setting up basic data visualization, experience with any of the following - Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Apache Superset
Thorough understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose
Considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
Strong communication, with the ability to think about how your work and code will impact others
Accountability and ownership
Self motivated to see projects and features ship with quality and testing coverage

Salary range reflected is an estimate of base pay and is for the primary location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $95,540.00 - $112,400.00 - $123,640.00
